The European research project \u201cRescueME\u201d is nearing completion (October 2026) and, to this end, its pilot technological tools are being tested by partners of the Psiloritis Geopark. In an effort to further disseminate the project\u2019s technological tools and optimise them, a two-day workshop was held on 20 and 22 July 2026, attended by 31 researchers from the \u201cPeriplus\u201d workshop. The workshop was organised to coincide with the researchers\u2019 simultaneous presence in Anogia village, their multicultural background, and the relevance of Periplus\u2019 research objectives to the core concept of the resilience of coastal cultural landscapes within the \u201cRescueME\u201d project.
On 20 July, the researchers had the opportunity to visit the project\u2019s Area of Interest and learn about the intangible cultural heritage of pottery in Margarites village through the testimonies of the owner of \u2018Kerameion\u2019, George Dalambelas.
As part of their familiarisation with the area, the researchers explored the relationship between people and the land at the \u201cMargarites Gorge\u201d geosite, learned about everyday objects inspired by Minoan art from the potter\u2019s exhibition, and tasted local specialities from the area.<\/p>

The two-day event concluded on 22 July with a presentation of the project and its technological tools by Chara Papailiou, the RescueME Project Manager and a collaborator with the Geopark. The researchers had the opportunity to try out the \u201cChatbot\u201d tool for themselves, an interactive mobile communication tool developed to facilitate communication between control centres, field teams and citizens in the context of natural disaster risk management.<\/p>
