Passenger ports in Crete include Heraklion, Chania, Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos, Sitia, and Kissamos. The ferry trip from Piraeus to Crete takes around 9 to 14 hours depending on the destination chosen, and there are also connections via islands of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.<br \/>Crete receives domestic and international flights through its airports: the Heraklion International Airport \u201cNikos Kazantzakis\u201d (HER), the Chania International Airport \u201cIoannisDaskalogiannis\u201d (CHQ) and the Sitia Municipal Airport \u201cVitsentzosKornaros\u201d (JSH). Flights are also more frequent during the summer months, offering direct connections to more cities within Greece and abroad.<br \/><br \/><strong>Access to the Psiloritis Geopark<\/strong><\/p><p>Access to the Geopark is possible:<\/p><ul><li>from the east via the city of Heraklion using the provincial road that passes through the Gazi junction and connects sequentially Tylisos, Gonies, Anogeia<\/li><li>from the west via the city of Rethymno using the old national road that connects sequentially Perama, Garazo, Axos, Anogeia<\/li><li>from the south by the road axis connecting Heraklion, Agia Varvara, Gergeri, Zaros, Kamares, Fourfouras, AgiaFoteini, Arkadi, Margarites, Perama, Rethymno<\/li><li>from the north via the new national road Heraklion\u2212Rethymno turning left at the Sisses\u2212Aloides junction<\/li><li>and from the north via the old national road linking Heraklion, Gazi junction, Marathos, Damasta, Garazo, Axos, Anogeia.<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>The Geopark areas are served by the intercity bus network (KTEL) of Heraklion and Rethymno.
