Research and Innovation at the Psiloritis Geopark Living Laboratory

Research is a key pillar of the Psiloritis Geopark, as the various studies conducted in the area help document and expand our knowledge of its natural and cultural heritage.

Indeed, a UNESCO Global Geopark is not a museum, but a living, active laboratory where people can engage with science—whether they are researchers at the highest academic level or curious visitors eager to discover nature and culture. Like all UNESCO Global Geoparks, the Psiloritis Geopark collaborates with academic institutions and research bodies, supporting and encouraging scientific research in Earth Sciences and other fields relevant to the area (ecology, culture, sustainability, local economy), enriching our understanding of the region.
